    Recurring payments & setup question

I've read all of the discussion on recurring payments, but I didn''t specifically see where we can bill the customer once for different amounts each month.  For example, we need to be able to bill our customers (process credit card without them or us touching anything) for a base price each month plus any add-ons they may purchase.  Will .netInvoice do this?  Also, as for my setup question, I didn't see a credit card form that my customers can use to complete their initial purchase.  We have setup a payment gateway account with Authorize.net and we have a merchant account with our bank.  We were looking at the Authorize.net CIM integration method, but I would rather use .netInvoice.  We are also hosted at discountasp.net, which makes perfect sense if your software will support our needs.  Thanks, Brian

Re: Recurring payments & setup question

    Brian,

In DotNetInvoice a recurring invoice is setup once for a specific amount and is then billed every X days/months/years for the same amount. If the client has a credit card on file the card is automatically charged, otherwise they are sent an invoice via email they can login and pay. But the amount entered when the invoice is first created is billed each month - it can't vary from month to month.

DNI does include a credit card form for the client to pay their invoice the first time it's issued. Remember, this is invoicing software rather than a shopping cart, so you as an administrator have to create an invoice that is then emailed to the client. They can then login to their client account to pay the invoice. Each month after that it will be automatically charged.

    Does this answer your questions?

Thanks for your reply.  Not really unless the answer is no we don't really offer recurring billing.  I'm sure you are familiar with discountasp.net.  I signed up and gave them my credit card.  I was then billed for a years worth of service.  Everytime I add a service, I just add the service and it is added to my total each and every monthl.  I then see a charge of X one month from discountasp and the next month a charge of Y.  This is what we want to do, but it seems to be very difficult to get this setup.  Does your service do this?  If not, it won't work for us.  We would very much like to work with your software.  It looks really powerful.

     Thanks, Brian

Re: Recurring payments & setup question

Our software does everything you described, except it is not a shopping cart, it is an invoicing system. In other words, the admin has to create and update invoices, the client cannot add/remove items on an invoice. The bottom line is that we do not handle everything you are looking for - you would need to write some .NET code to allow your customers to add/edit features from their account, and then have the code modify their existing invoice.
