    CC Expired??

    Hi,

We had a client that was 1 month overdue, the client didn't realize that the CC on file had expired. Could a CC expiration warning email to a client be added. The application really also needs to prompt clients to add a credit card to their details. I know that wouldn't make sense if someone doesn't accept CC payments but if the system is setup for CC payments then at least let the user know they need to add a CC.

    Thanks

    SaintMak,

I hear you on the expiration date notification. I've added it to our tracker.

Please provide more explanation on how the "prompting for a CC number would work." As an example, if my install of DNI has both PayPal and CC payments enabled, would it prompt everyone to enter CC info? When would it prompt them? Every time they login, or only the first time? Just trying to get an idea of how you see the functionality working.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Re: CC Expired??

    Hey Rob,

As a suggestion, maybe the end goal would to be able to have this configurable via the Admin area. A message on them logging in the first time would be nice but only if DNI is using Authorize.net to accept payments. I guess it doesn't hurt to remind them the first time they login either way. If DNI could email the customer as a reminder service that they don't have CC on file, that would be the best thing.

Along these lines, I think the Admin group should be able to add/remove/edit credit card information for the clients' profile also. We have clients' that just like to call up to give the updated cc information and we have now way of doing that at this time. Could you suggest how this could be done at this time? I am just a novice .net developer but I think I could utilize what is already in place to accomplish this task.

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: CC Expired??

    Hi SaintMak,

One thing I'm unclear on is why the system would remind a customer to provide their CC information, when they have to enter their CC info the first time they pay an invoice, and they may only want to pay with PayPal. It seems like sending email reminders, or passing a reminder up on the screen is unnecessary since you will get their CC info if/when they want to provide it. Am I missing a key piece of the puzzle?

Allowing admins to edit client CC info is a really good suggestion, and one I haven't heard before. I'm adding it to the tracker as we speak.  In terms of a short-term fix, look at the code for /billing-method.aspx to see how the application currently handles it. You could add this section to the bottom of the admin's "edit client" page (/admin/clients/edit.aspx) with some modification.
