When they log in, they would be able to change the email address for the account as long as the email doesn't already exist in your system. Unless you are going to customize the code yourself, that will probably be your best short term solution. I'll put this into our tracking system, but it won't make our next version at this point since this is the first time we've heard the request. If you need a customized solution, we can look at doing some custom development for you. You can email support@dotnetinvoice.com with the steps you'd like the system to take so that your clients can enter this information to fully setup the accounts.

2. I'll add to the request the storing and displaying of the last time the contact info was updated.

Re: Suggestions

1. As I said, this is a problem because the email address that I would enter might not be the same as the billing contact.

2. Sure you could add that too. I would want to know when it was last updated.

Re: Suggestions

webpromo,

1. Would it work if you had an option to only enter email and password and then they could have access to the client side to add the full contact information?

2. Would the email every x days be enough or would you also want a last updated date and a warning message that appears if they are logged in? I'll add the feature request into our system for the email part and add the other details if you think that would need to be part of it.

Re: Suggestions

1. I would prefer just to forward the new client a link and allow them to complete the entire information. There are cases were the person that I'm dealing with isn't the same person that will be billed for the service.

2. This makes sense to you and I...but clients don't read that information. If they are sent an email separate from the invoice or regular emails they pay more attention to it. Just like when you get a domain name renewal notice or notices to keep your WHOIS info up-to-date.

Re: Suggestions

webpromo,

1. If you enter the minimum requirements for a client, email, password, first and last name, they will be able to login to the client side of DotNetInvoice and update the rest of their information. Does that take care of what you need?

2. Would it work if you added a note about updating contact information when you send out invoice emails?

3. We've had a few requests for this and have it in our tracking system.

Suggestions

Here are some suggestions:

1. Allow admin to send new customers a URL were the customer can complete a form (hidden from the public) for their billing info. This way it saves time for the admin and puts the onus on the customer to keep up-to-date info.

2. Configure DNI to send out reminders to all customers every X amount of days to check their contact/billing information.

3. When creating an invoice, the admin should select the Company Name as the "Client" not the contact person of the Company.
